Open every day from 10 am to 6 pm and until 9 pm on Thursdays. General admission is free.

The Weta Cave provides a behind-the-scenes look at Weta and screens interviews with Weta co-founders Peter Jackson, Richard Taylor, Tania Rodger, and Jamie Selkirk. You will be given an exclusive insight into the creativity and imagination that goes into crafting the art of Weta. In Weta's mini-museum, you come face to face with some of the characters, props, and displays from your favorite movies.

The zoo sits on 13 hectares in Wellington city’s green town belt. Ranging from endangered species to New Zealand native wildlife, it provides natural habitat environments for all of its animals. The zoo is also actively involved in international captive breeding programs for both native & exotic endangered species. The zoo is open daily from 9:30 am - 5 pm, except Christmas Day. There are keeper/ guide talks of different animals starting from 10 am each day. Check the Zoo entrance board for locations & time.

The Basin Reserve is a cricket ground in Wellington, New Zealand. It has been used for Test matches, and is the main home ground for the Wellington Firebirds first-class team. The Basin Reserve is the only cricket ground to have New Zealand Historic Place status as it is the oldest test cricket ground in the country.
